Breaking: Julius Abure Declared Labour Party Chairman By Obi And Alex Otti Ally

Obi, an ally of Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, made this declaration while discussing the recent defection of lawmakers from the Labour Party to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“There is no leadership crisis in the Labour Party that necessitates the defection of its lawmakers,” Aguocha stated. He emphasized that while political parties may face challenges, the leadership has been dedicated to finding solutions.

In an interview with New Telegraph, he elaborated: “Every political party experiences challenges, but the Labour Party’s leadership remains committed to addressing them. APC and PDP also have their issues, but the focus is on finding solutions.”

On the defections, Aguocha explained: “These lawmakers come from states where the Labour Party does not have control, and it’s a matter of self-preservation. The 2027 election looms large, and they may feel the need for support from state governments.”

He also pointed out that the court has upheld Julius Abure’s leadership of the Labour Party, adding, “Regardless of personal opinions, Abure remains the chairman by court determination. There’s no division within the Labour Party.”
