According to the statement released by the directorate, the former Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, has been appointed as the supervising director of this new unit. Afunanya will also oversee the DSS’s public communications functions.

The appointment officially commenced on September 26, as stated in the announcement.

The Service expressed its appreciation to Director General Yusuf Magaji Bichi for his initiative in expanding the organization and specifically selecting Afunanya to lead the directorate.
