The President of the Ekiti Association Houston in the United States, Pastor Bolu Alabi, affirmed the association’s dedication to fostering a culture of academic excellence in Ekiti State by inspiring the younger generation. During the inaugural annual prize-giving ceremony held in Ado Ekiti, where N1.6 million was distributed among the top 32 JSS3 students, Alabi emphasized the goal of promoting academic achievement, healthy competition, and ensuring the students reach their full potential…CONTINUE READING
Commending Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his contributions across various sectors, including education, Alabi stated, “We are here today to contribute our quota to the development of the state.” The awards, granted to the best students from 32 secondary schools across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State, marked the beginning of what the association envisions as an annual tradition. Alabi expressed the association’s aspiration to extend the recognition to the best JSS3 students in every secondary school in Ekiti State on an annual basis, with plans for expansion in the coming years.
During the ceremony, US Fulbright Scholar Prof. Wole Olaiya delivered a lecture titled ‘Education in a Season of Japa,’ advising the recipients and all secondary school students to “shun distractions and strive to achieve the education that will help to build your character.” The event showcased the commitment of the Ekiti Association Houston to contributing positively to the educational landscape of Ekiti State and encouraging continuous academic success.
