Uzodinma congratulated the people of Abia for the positive changes witnessed under Otti’s administration, stating, ‘I want to use this medium to congratulate the people of Abia State for the lease of life that we are witnessing in the government of Dr. Alex Otti.’
Acknowledging Hon. Onyejeocha’s contributions to the state’s development, Governor Uzodinma referred to her as an Amazon and recognized her substantial impact despite not being reelected to the green chamber.
The governor emphasized the need for political unity in the South East, urging politicians to collaborate for the overall development of the region. He stressed the importance of quality service, stating, ‘If we serve our people well, it means we have served God well because the mind of the people is obviously the mind of God.’
In response, Governor Otti affirmed his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and improving the lives of Abians. He emphasized that building infrastructure and roads were part of his responsibilities, not favors, and expressed gratitude to the people of Umunneochi for their continued support.
Hon. Onyejeocha, in her speech, thanked God for her political journey and emphasized the end of relegating God to the background in Abia. She expressed her readiness to serve at any level to contribute to the nation’s greatness.
The event also featured a sermon by Rt. Hon. Dr. John Eze, Bishop of the Methodist Church Nigeria, who highlighted the power of thanksgiving. Dignitaries present included the National Chairman of APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN, among others from across party divides.
