Following the incursion at the Adamawa State Police Headquarters, the Nigerian Army has dismissed Brigadier General Mohammed Gambo from his role as the Commander of the 23 Armoured Brigade, Yola.

Last month’s intrusion resulted in a tragic loss of lives, including both military personnel and a police inspector, prompting the swift replacement of Gambo by Brigadier General Paul Zawaya, a native of Michika Local Council in Adamawa, as reported by Bushradiogist.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri extended a warm welcome to the new commander at the Government House in Yola. Expressing enthusiasm about Zawaya’s appointment, Fintiri urged him to intensify efforts to combat the escalating crime rate in the state.

Governor Fintiri assigned Zawaya the responsibility of collaborating closely with other law enforcement agencies to tackle various forms of criminal activities, with a particular emphasis on kidnapping in Adamawa State.Fintiri reaffirmed his dedication to collaborative efforts with security organizations to establish a crime-free environment for the well-being of the citizens.

In response, Brigadier General Paul Zawaya assured Governor Fintiri of his unwavering commitment to maintaining security across the state. Zawaya pledged to diligently work towards the common goal of a safer Adamawa, recognizing the significance of a unified effort involving all stakeholders.
