In a recent incident along the Orile-Imo section of the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway, at least nine people, comprising three females and six males, narrowly avoided a fatal outcome when their vehicles collided. The collision involved a high-speed Toyota car and a Mitsubishi bus, resulting in the bus overturning and the car skidding off the highway.
An anonymous eyewitness attributed the accident to the excessive speed of the drivers, stating, “What I saw was that the vehicles were on high speed when one lost control and collided with the other. I got there a few minutes after it happened.”
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, confirmed the incident. She pointed to excessive speeding as the primary cause
