BREAKING NEWS: Ogun INEC REC Olaniyi Ijalaye Collapses In Abuja

Niyi Ijalaye, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Ogun State, collapsed on Monday evening in Abuja shortly after a meeting at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters. The meeting addressed upcoming off-cycle elections in Edo and Ondo States. However, Ijalaye collapsed upon returning to his room at the Bon Octagon Hotel in the Federal Capital Territory. His current condition is unknown.

Ijalaye, originally from Ondo State, was appointed as Ogun State’s REC in March 2022, succeeding Olusegun Agbaje, who was transferred to Lagos State. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
