Ogun State Government Declares N50 Million Bounty for Capture of Finance Director’s Killers
The Ogun State Government has declared a N50 million reward for individuals providing information that leads to the apprehension of those responsible for the murder of Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi, the former Director of Finance and Administration associated with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
The 51-year-old Oyekanmi was fatally attacked by gunmen on Wednesday, November 29, at the Kuto Flyover Bridge in Abeokuta. The assailants intercepted Oyekanmi and two others as they were returning to the Governor’s Office, carrying a significant amount of money withdrawn from two major banks in Abeokuta.
The hoodlums, armed with guns, not only killed the chartered accountant from Ifonyintedo but also escaped with the substantial sum of money. Governor Dapo Abiodun expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators face justice.
In an official statement released on Friday, the state government announced a N50 million cash reward for anyone providing information crucial to the security agents in identifying and apprehending the killers. The governor and his administration are determined to leave no stone unturned in the quest for justice for the slain senior civil servant, leaving the entire cabinet devastated and traumatized by the loss.
