BREAKING: Nigerian Police Nab Most-Wanted Fugitives Sought By Belgium And UAE!

The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended two high-profile international fugitives: Felix Omoregie, also known as “Eghosa Johnson Omoregie,” and Okwudili Sabastine Ezeje.

Omoregie, the alleged kingpin of a major human trafficking ring wanted by Belgian authorities, and Ezeje, a suspected member of a notorious Dubai-based armed robbery syndicate, were captured following coordinated intelligence operations.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the arrests were the result of collaborative efforts between the Nigeria Police, the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), and international law enforcement agencies.

Felix Omoregie, the alleged orchestrator of a trans-European sex trafficking network, had been on the run since his conviction in absentia by a Belgian court in 2021. INTERPOL issued a Red Notice for his arrest on December 19, 2023. He was eventually tracked down and arrested in Benin City, Edo State. Authorities recovered key evidence from his residence, including a copy of a passport intended for a planned escape to Canada. Omoregie is accused of trafficking young Nigerian women—some minors—to Italy, and later distributing them across Europe for sexual exploitation. His victims were controlled through rituals, fear, and fake debts of €20,000 to €50,000, with handlers in Brussels and France remitting proceeds back to him. He is set to appear before the Federal High Court in Benin City.

In a separate operation, INTERPOL’s National Central Bureau in Abuja arrested 37-year-old Okwudili Sabastine Ezeje in Nsukka, Enugu State. Ezeje is wanted by the UAE for multiple serious offenses including armed robbery, cultism, and drug trafficking. Despite residing in Nigeria, Ezeje reportedly continued to orchestrate criminal activities in the UAE. He has been implicated in high-profile heists such as an armed robbery at Dubai Mall, a raid on Al Ansari Exchange in Jumeirah, and a Bureau de Change attack in Jebel Ali Village. His arraignment is expected soon.
