According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the newly formed Ministry of Regional Development will now oversee all regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission. This strategic consolidation is intended to foster greater coordination and efficiency in regional development efforts.
Additionally, the National Sports Commission will assume the responsibilities previously held by the Ministry of Sports. The FEC also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy, signaling a comprehensive restructuring of key sectors aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing national development.
