The Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Oladiji Olamide, confirmed the meeting with President Tinubu, emphasizing that the assembly members would gather at the villa by noon today. He clarified that the Friday’s plenary is intended to declare Aiyedatiwa as Acting Governor, not to declare Akeredolu incapacitated.
In recent months, Governor Akeredolu’s health has been a subject of speculation, with various reports suggesting incapacitation and even death. Additionally, there are reports of the governor utilizing over 7 billion Naira from state funds for contingencies in the past three months.
President Tinubu, known for mediating conflicts among leaders, has previously settled disputes, including the notable reconciliation between FCT Minister Wike and his successor Sim Fubura since assuming office.
