The revered leader of Isolo in Lagos State, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka, known as the Osolo of Isolo Land, has passed away. Naija News has gathered that Oba Agbabiaka breathed his last at the age of 64, just three months before marking his 20th coronation anniversary.

According to reports from Punch, the monarch’s demise occurred shortly after he participated in the Eid prayers on Wednesday.

Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area, Olasoju Adebayo, confirmed the sad news in a statement, announcing that the late monarch would be laid to rest by 4 pm in accordance with Islamic customs.

However, the cause of his death has not been disclosed by Olasoju.

In the statement, he said, “I have been instructed by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to officially announce the passing of the paramount ruler of Isolo Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Agbabiaka, Adeola Olushi III, today April 10, 2024. He was aged 64.

“He will be laid to rest today by 4 pm at his palace, 3/5 Akinbaye Street, Isolo, according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace.”

The late monarch ascended to the throne in 2004 and held the position until his demise. He also served as the Secretary of the League of Awori Obas in Lagos State.

Meanwhile, in another development, the traditional ruler of Riruwai village in Lame District, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Badamasi, was kidnapped and later found dead.

Reports indicate that Badamasi was abducted from his palace on March 15, 2024, by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers. Villagers fled the community during the attack, as the assailants fired shots indiscriminately.

Although no ransom was demanded, the traditional ruler’s lifeless body was discovered by villagers after a day of searching in the nearby bush.
