Tinubu, the former Lagos State governor, was declared the winner of the February 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Since taking office, President Tinubu has introduced several economic policies, some of which have been met with mixed reactions from Nigerians.
However, in a series of posts on his official X handle on Thursday, Akume emphasized that the current administration has delivered measurable progress in less than two years.
According to him, President Tinubu’s efforts to transform the economy are beginning to yield positive results.
He pointed out that funds previously spent on fuel subsidies are now being redirected to subnational governments for grassroots development.
Akume also highlighted the administration’s significant strides in structural reforms, especially in agriculture, aimed at ensuring long-term food security and sustainability. These reforms, he noted, are designed to increase food supply and alleviate inflationary pressures, ultimately benefiting all Nigerians.
Here are the 12 Nuggets of Progress outlined by the SGF:
“2025 is off to a dynamic start, and our Renewed Hope Agenda is in full motion. In under two years, we are witnessing tangible progress as our economic transformation efforts begin to take shape under President @OfficialABAT.”
1. We are working tirelessly to reduce inflation and restore confidence in our monetary policies. By overhauling the foreign exchange regime, we’ve shifted from an opaque system of preferential allocations to a more transparent and efficient market-driven mechanism.
