Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has accused Finland-based self-proclaimed Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa, of being involved in kidnapping for ransom.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking on Saturday during a ceremony at the International Convention Centre, Awka, Soludo described kidnapping as a business now more lucrative than drugs or oil. He expressed concern over the growing acceptance of such criminal activities, coupled with the rise of idolatry in the Southeast, which he claimed has become the fastest-growing “religion” among criminals.

“Before I took office, about eight local government areas were under the control of gunmen,” Soludo stated. “We worked tirelessly to reclaim these areas. These gangs claim to be Biafra freedom fighters, but IPOB has distanced itself from their activities. However, Simon Ekpa continues to engage in kidnapping for ransom.”

The governor lamented the normalization of criminality, noting, “Kidnapping for ransom is now the most lucrative enterprise, surpassing even drugs and oil. For every one naira reported as ransom payment, five to six naira goes unreported. Unfortunately, in a culture that celebrates wealth without questioning its source, even kidnappers are now glorified. These criminals, embracing idolatry, have lost all sense of sanctity and morality.”
