His opponent, Stanley Osifo, reportedly failed to secure a single vote in the exercise, which was conducted across 171 wards in the state’s 13 local government areas.

Announcing the result in Abakaliki, Governor Francis Nwifuru, who served as the State Collation Officer, said the APC had a total membership strength of 215,490 in Ebonyi State.

He disclosed that 207,579 members were accredited and participated in the voting process.

According to the final breakdown, Tinubu polled 15,673 votes in Abakaliki, 10,718 in Afikpo North, 10,713 in Ohaozara, 16,413 in Ebonyi, 11,694 in Edda, 11,928 in Ohaukwu, 19,088 in Ezza South, and 19,341 in Ikwo.

He also secured 17,501 votes in Izzi, 8,406 in Ivo, 19,160 in Ishielu, 25,453 in Ezza North, 18,300 in Afikpo South, and 13,896 in Onicha Local Government Area.

Governor Nwifuru described the outcome as a true reflection of the votes cast across the state and commended party members for a peaceful, transparent, and orderly process.

“Ebonyi Totally APC” — Umahi Declares

Minister of Works, David Umahi, who spoke during the primary in his Umunaga Ward, Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area, declared Ebonyi a stronghold of the APC.

He said the people of the state remain firmly aligned with the ruling party and the Tinubu administration.

“Ebonyi State is totally APC. We are only APC,” Umahi stated.

He also noted that there was virtually no opposition presence in Ohaozara Local Government Area, pointing to strong party dominance.

Umahi said the high turnout demonstrated confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and reform agenda, adding that he believes the President could resolve Nigeria’s security challenges within the next five years if re-elected in 2027.

He further claimed that the Tinubu administration had integrated the South-East into national governance through appointments and infrastructure development.

“Bola Tinubu is the Biafra we have been looking for; a man who has integrated the South-East, given us juicy appointments and very important infrastructure,” he said, while defending the government’s reform policies.
