This increase will be in effect for six months, following additional consultations with the Federal Government delegation that engaged in discussions with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) earlier this Sunday.

It is worth noting that during the meeting between both parties, the Federal Government reaffirmed its dedication to expediting the deployment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to alleviate the challenges in public transportation that have arisen due to the removal of petrol subsidies.

Additionally, the Federal Government made commitments to provide financial support for micro and small-scale enterprises and to grant exemptions on Value Added Tax (VAT) for diesel over the next six months.
