Breaking: Tinubu Names Adeyemi As New Fire Chief In Bold Leadership Shake-Up

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective from August 14, 2025.

The announcement was made via a statement released by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) and signed by its Secretary, Abdulmalik Jibrin.

According to the statement, Adeyemi’s appointment comes in light of the upcoming retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who is set to exit service on August 1, 2025, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.

DCG Adeyemi, who began his career with the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, has risen through the ranks to become Deputy Controller-General in charge of Human Resources at the Service Headquarters. He brings with him a broad base of experience, having completed all required in-service training and command courses both locally and internationally.

Throughout his distinguished career, Adeyemi has held several key positions and is affiliated with various professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The Board also expressed gratitude to the outgoing CG, Engr. Olola, lauding his significant contributions to the growth and modernization of the Federal Fire Service and recognizing his unwavering commitment and leadership during his tenure.
