President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his nod to the appointments of Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) and Dr. Adedeji Ashiru as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA).
The announcement came via a statement from Tinubu’s official spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday.
Engr. Woke brings a wealth of experience to his new role, boasting a background as an engineer, environmental specialist, and politician. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering, he has previously served within various capacities under the environmental, safety, and operations departments of the erstwhile Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Additionally, he has held significant positions such as Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State and Chief of Staff at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Dr. Ashiru, on the other hand, holds a Doctorate degree in Engineering from the Common Wealth University, UK. His professional journey has seen him lead a consortium of blue-chip companies, accumulating a plethora of accolades along the way.
President Tinubu has expressed his confidence in the newly appointed Chief Executive Officers, urging them to leverage their expertise for the benefit of these crucial agencies. He emphasized the importance of transparency in their operations, underscoring the need for sustainable progress and transformation under their stewardship
