Breaking: Tinubu Unveils Powerful 17-Man Committee To Orchestrate Buhari’s Grand State Burial (Full List Inside!)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the formation of an Inter-Ministerial Committee to oversee the State funeral of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The 17-member committee will be chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.

In a statement released on Monday, Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, said the committee’s mandate is to organize and coordinate a dignified state burial for the late statesman.

The committee comprises the following members:

1. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy

2. Minister of Budget and Economic Planning

3. Minister of Defence

4. Minister of Information and National Orientation

5. Minister of Works

6. Minister of Interior

7. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

8. Minister of Housing and Urban Development

9. Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare

10. Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy

11. National Security Adviser

12. Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination

13. Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Related Matters

14. Inspector General of Police

15. Director-General, Department of State Services (DSS)

16. Chief of Defence Staff

The General Services Office (GSO), under the Office of the Permanent Secretary, will serve as the Secretariat for the Committee.

President Tinubu also directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to set up condolence registers at their entrances to allow members of the public to pay tribute to the late former President.

In addition, a central condolence register for the diplomatic corps and the general public will be made available at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.
