During the official handover ceremony in Abuja, Prof. Muhammad Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, expressed gratitude to the US government for the donation. Represented by Permanent Secretary Daju Kachollom, Pate emphasized the Nigerian Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing public health.

Pate remarked, “This donation reflects years of cooperation and collaboration. The vaccine will greatly benefit our health initiatives. Our policies and partnerships are dedicated to ensuring the health of our citizens. We are fortunate to have dedicated leaders like the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Tunji Alausa, as we work together to transform the health sector.”

He also thanked development partners, including USAID, PEPFAR, WHO, UNICEF, and other UN organizations, for their continued support. Pate highlighted the importance of addressing public health issues, acknowledging the vast population of Nigeria and the need to tackle diseases effectively.
