Breaking: Victor Osimhen Storms Super Eagles Camp Ahead Of Crucial Clash With Gabon

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has finally arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Morocco as Nigeria intensifies preparations for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoff semi-final clash against Gabon.

Osimhen, who joined the squad earlier today, November 11, is among the latest arrivals, bringing the total number of players in camp to 23. As of press time, only Maduka Okoye of Udinese was yet to report to camp in Rabat.

The Nigerian team boasts a strong lineup featuring captain William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Tolu Arokodare, and Raphael Onyedika.

Training sessions have reportedly been intense as the team fine-tunes tactics ahead of Thursday’s showdown, scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. (Nigerian time) at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.

Speaking ahead of the match, Troost-Ekong identified Gabon captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a major threat to Nigeria’s hopes of progressing.

“Gabon is a strong team. Aubameyang continues to lead from the front, causing problems for defenders. I’ve played against him in Saudi Arabia, so I know his quality. In Africa, you can’t underestimate any team, and we won’t do that with Gabon,” he said.

The winner of the Nigeria–Gabon tie will advance to face either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the playoff final, with a place in the Intercontinental Playoffs in March 2026 at stake.
