Breaking: Wike Makes Bold New Appointments To Transform Abuja

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the appointment of new members to the Interim Management Board of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) Golf Club in Abuja.

This announcement was made on Saturday through a statement issued by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.

According to the statement, Peter Deshi has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Interim Management Board, while Yomi Oyelola will serve as Secretary.

Other members appointed to the Interim Management Board include: Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, Arc. Nanwor Mamven, Mrs. Ekanem Ekwueme, Arc. Arabi Bello, Lawan Aboki, Okey Nnaedozie, Fred Otobo, and Julius Fadairo.

The statement added, “With these appointments, members of the IBB Golf Club Interim Management Board are to assume their duties immediately. The FCT Minister congratulates the appointees and urges them to work diligently toward repositioning the IBB Golf Club.”

Meanwhile, in a separate development, tension gripped Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, on Saturday after gunshots disrupted a mega rally organized by a political group reportedly loyal to Minister Wike.

Reports gathered by Naija News indicated that the rally was coordinated by George Turnah, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State.

The rally was in progress when the area was rocked by gunfire, sparking panic among residents.
However, normalcy was later restored, according to Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe, Secretary of NEW Associates in Bayelsa, who spoke with journalists.
