BREAKING: Wike Reinstates FCT Education Secretary And IRS Acting Chairman

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate reinstatement of two senior officials who were previously suspended.

The officials returning to their roles are Dr. Danlami Hayyo, FCT Mandate Secretary for Education, and Mr. Michael Ango, Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS).

In a statement issued Wednesday in Abuja, Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communication and Social Media, confirmed that Wike directed both officials to resume their duties with immediate effect.

The Minister emphasized that their reinstatement comes with a strict warning against any form of indiscipline among officials serving within the FCT Administration.

Both officials had been suspended following separate incidents. Dr. Hayyo was suspended on November 25 after issuing a circular instructing schools to close early due to reported security concerns. Mr. Ango was suspended on December 5, though no specific reason for his suspension was publicly disclosed at the time.
