British High Commission Reveals Real Reason Behind Visa Policy Review

The British High Commission in Nigeria has clarified that its revised visa policy is designed to curb illegal migration to the United Kingdom. The UK government is reportedly considering tighter visa restrictions for countries with high rates of visa overstays and asylum claims.

According to the UK Home Office, nations such as Nigeria, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka have been flagged as potentially impacted by the policy shift.

Addressing speculations about the new visa rules, a spokesperson for the British High Commission in Nigeria stated on Wednesday that the UK regularly reviews its immigration policies to prevent system abuse while facilitating legitimate travel.
