Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has emphasized the need for a more cohesive relationship between the military and civilians in Gashu’a, following a recent clash between soldiers and Keke NAPEP riders that resulted in three fatalities and numerous injuries.

Expressing deep regret over the incident, Governor Buni highlighted the unfortunate nature of such violence occurring during a period of relative peace in the state. He underscored the importance of preventing such avoidable tragedies.

Governor Buni expressed concern over the recurring nature of conflicts in Gashu’a and announced the state government’s intention to engage with military authorities to find lasting solutions to these challenges, aiming to preserve the harmony between the military and civilians.

He stressed the necessity of unity in combating common adversaries, urging both military personnel and residents to recognize their mutual responsibilities in achieving collective security and prosperity.
