Busted! Bauchi Principal Caught Red-Handed Selling Off School Equipment, Gets Fired

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Garba Muhammad Bashe, Permanent Secretary of the Bauchi State Teachers’ Service Commission.
Alongside the principal, senior teacher Adamu Shehu was also removed from his position after being found guilty of collaborating in the unauthorized sale of school property.
The Commission revealed that the items illegally sold included 32 scrap student beds, nine large aluminium cooking pots, and an unspecified number of roofing sheets.
A four-member investigative panel found both individuals culpable. As a result, the Commission approved their demotion by one grade level and ordered their redeployment to other schools.
In a statement released Thursday by the Commission’s Information Officer, Dahiru Adamu, it was confirmed that both officials are to refund ₦597,000, the estimated value of the sold assets. Additionally, the principal must repay ₦72,000 owed to the school’s casual workers.
The Commission further pledged to work with security agencies to recover the stolen items and uphold accountability across the education system.
