The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has clarified that his past criticisms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration stemmed from his role in the opposition party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain made this revelation on Tuesday during an appearance on Arise TV’s The Morning Show.

Bwala explained that as a member of the opposition, his duty was to scrutinize and hold the ruling government accountable. However, his perspective shifted after meeting with President Tinubu.

“I criticized Tinubu’s election and administration in the past because I was part of the opposition. It’s the opposition’s role to hold the government to account. But after meeting the President, my views evolved, and he saw fit to appoint me,” Bwala stated.

Before his appointment, Bwala had openly accused Tinubu of rigging the presidential election, suggesting that the President would grapple with moral legitimacy issues after taking office.

“Although the presumption of law favors Tinubu until the election tribunal and appeals conclude, he will struggle with moral legitimacy (because he rigged the election) for the first 240 days of his presidency,” Bwala wrote on X.

In May 2023, during another interview with Arise Television, Bwala reiterated his allegations, questioning the legitimacy of Tinubu’s victory. He referred to Tinubu as a “president-select” instead of a “president-elect,” accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of manipulating the election results.

“We are in court to prove the election was rigged. Until the case is fully resolved, we reserve the right under the law, equity, and justice to assert that he is a president-select, not a president-elect,” Bwala declared.
