Call For Action: APC Youth Urges Tinubu To Sack Ganduje Immediately

A gathering of youths under the umbrella of the Coalition of APC Kano Youths has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to dismiss former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from his role as the National Chairman of the party. Sango contended that Ganduje’s appointment also contravened the party’s zoning arrangement, which designates the National Chairman position for the North Central zone. He called on President Tinubu to facilitate the return of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general election, into the APC. Sango suggested that Kwankwaso be handed the party leadership in Kano, citing his popularity as a means to reclaim the state.

Addressing the media, Sango emphasized, “We want to call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leader of our party and the father of modern Nigeria, to sack the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for his failure to deliver Kano State to the APC in the last governorship election.” He criticized Ganduje as incompetent, corrupt, and divisive, alleging that he had betrayed the trust of APC members and supporters in Kano.

Sango continued, “Therefore, we demand that Ganduje should step down immediately and Tinubu should not give him any appointment again, due to his corruption records.”

The Coalition expressed a willingness to welcome Senator Kwankwaso into the APC and advocated for his recognition as the APC leader in Kano State. Sango expressed confidence that with Kwankwaso in the APC, the party could regain control of Kano State and restore its former glory.

In response, another group led by Ahmad Tijjani Abubakar dismissed the call for Ganduje’s removal, asserting that Sadiq Ali Sango is not a member of the APC and therefore lacks the authority to speak on behalf of the party. Abubakar emphasized Ganduje’s achievements as the National Chairman, citing his role in stabilizing the party and securing victories in gubernatorial elections in Imo and Kogi States.

He urged the public to disregard what he termed as “malicious statements,” expressing full support for Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the leader whom they trust and have confidence in.
