Yemi Cardodo, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has initiated another round of staff terminations, dismissing 40 employees primarily from the Development Finance Department (DFD) as part of the bank’s ongoing restructuring efforts.

According to reports from Daily Trust, the affected individuals mainly include deputy directors and assistant directors, with 22 coming from the DFD and the remaining 18 from the Medicals and Procurement Services Department.

The impacted group comprises eight directors, 10 deputy directors, five assistant directors, two principal managers, and two senior managers.

This latest wave of terminations brings the total number of affected employees to 67, signaling a continued series of actions under the leadership of Olayemi Cardoso as the head of the Board of Governors.

It’s worth noting that a previous round of dismissals had already affected 27 staff members, primarily directors within the Central Bank of Nigeria.
