The circular purportedly stated, “CBN has withdrawn the licenses of Heritage Bank, Unity Bank, and Keystone Bank respectively,” urging affected customers to act swiftly.

However, in a statement posted via its official channels, the CBN dismissed the circular as false and aimed at misleading the public.

“This information is intended to deceive the general public. It is not from the Central Bank of Nigeria. Please disregard it,” the statement clarified.
