CEO Catches Employee Cooking Indomie Behind Office, His Unexpected Reaction Stuns Staff

A Nigerian employee who started selling homemade Indomie and eggs to colleagues during lunch reportedly received an unexpected reaction after his chief executive officer caught him preparing noodles at the back of the office.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the employee had reportedly started the small food business as a way of earning additional income. A former colleague who shared the experience said the man purchased cooking gas, a carton of Indomie and eggs after explaining to his colleagues that he needed an extra source of income.

Rather than discouraging him, some of his colleagues supported the initiative by patronising the food business. The noodles reportedly became popular among staff, with the employee selling more than two cartons within his first week.

The colleague described the homemade Indomie as being among the best he had tasted, noting that several members of staff regularly bought from the employee during lunch.

However, the situation reportedly took an unexpected turn when the CEO arrived at the office without prior notice and discovered the employee cooking Indomie behind the building.

The employee was said to have become extremely frightened after realising that his boss had caught him preparing food for sale on the company premises. His colleagues also reportedly feared that he could lose his job for operating a side business during work hours.

Contrary to their expectations, however, the CEO did not reprimand or dismiss him. Instead, he reportedly asked the employee to prepare noodles for every member of staff that day.

The CEO also asked the employee how much the ingredients would cost and reportedly paid for everything himself.

According to the narrator, the CEO explained that he had no problem with the employee earning additional income because he was performing his official duties well.

The unexpected response reportedly transformed what initially appeared to be a potentially embarrassing workplace incident into a memorable moment for the employee and his colleagues.

The story has since generated interest around the ways some employers respond to workers who engage in legitimate side businesses while maintaining good performance in their primary jobs.
