Chairman Arase Dismissed From Police Service Commission By Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Hashimu Argungu (retd), a former Deputy Inspector General of Police, as the new chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), replacing Solomon Arase.

Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman, announced the change in a statement on Monday, confirming Argungu’s appointment along with Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and Taiwo Lakanu (retd) as a member of the commission.

Ngelale stated, “President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd) as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission. The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate. Other members of the Police Service Commission will be appointed in due course.”

This move signals a significant change in leadership within the Police Service Commission and awaits confirmation by the Senate.
