Christian Pilgrims Face N3m Fee For 2024 Holy Journey

As per the statement, a letter dated December 28, 2023, was dispatched to the chairmen and secretaries of all the States Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards, specifying that the commencement of the pilgrimage is scheduled for the end of the current month.

The commission, in the communication, stipulated that the pilgrimage cost to Rome and Greece is set at N3,000,000 per pilgrim. This amount is inclusive of essential components such as return flight expenses, hotel accommodation, three-course meals daily, and guided tours of holy sites in both Rome and Greece. The accommodations during the six-night and seven-day pilgrimage will involve travel in executive luxurious buses. It was emphasized, however, that the cost does not cover pilgrims’ travel allowances.

Furthermore, the commission urged states that had previously made payments for pilgrimages to Israel and Jordan to reconcile the outstanding balance and actively participate in the pilgrimage to Rome and Greece.

The statement concluded by encouraging both states and private pilgrims to fulfill their payment obligations before services are rendered, setting the deadline for payments on or before the last day of January 2024. This proactive measure ensures smooth arrangements and logistical planning for the pilgrimage experience.
