Chris Oyakhilome, General Overseer of Christ Embassy, has criticized the music industry for exploiting the church over the past four to five decades.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a viral video shared with his congregation, Oyakhilome expressed his concerns that many musicians who started their careers in the church eventually shifted to secular music, neglecting their spiritual duties. He argued that these individuals used the church merely as a stepping stone to gain popularity and financial benefits, without giving back to the Christian ministry.

The clergyman also pointed out that once these artists were exposed to worldly influences, they returned to the church with attitudes and behaviors that had a negative impact on others. He cautioned pastors against placing sensitive areas of ministry, such as music, in the hands of individuals who may be more focused on self-interest than spiritual growth.

Oyakhilome stated, “For the last 40–50 years, no one has taken advantage of the church more than the music industry. Many of them started in the church, leading choirs or praise sessions, only to end up in the secular world. They used the church to become famous, start their own ventures, or make money. Satan influences their minds to exploit the church for financial gain.”

He continued, “I’ve told you, don’t give them any opportunities anymore, or else you risk spiritual harm. I’m trying to save them—many of them who wouldn’t have attended church—by exposing them to the right message. But once they go out, they bring back the wrong spirits, influencing others to act similarly.”

Oyakhilome concluded with a stern warning to pastors: “Don’t entrust this important part of ministry to those who only seek to use the church for personal gain.”
