In his statement, Alo advised protest organizers to exercise caution and employ wisdom, citing the #EndSARS protest as a critical lesson. He acknowledged that while peaceful protests are a legitimate way to address grievances and government shortcomings, they often risk being taken over by hoodlums.

Alo emphasized that it is crucial to prevent anyone from hijacking the protest for destructive purposes. He said, “It is not wrong to protest, but as responsible citizens, we must ensure our actions comply with the law. We must prevent Nigeria’s enemies from undermining the nation’s progress and causing widespread damage.”

Reflecting on the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests, Alo noted the significant loss of lives and destruction of property, which continues to impact communities. He urged Nigerians to avoid allowing politicians to exploit the situation for their own gain.

The cleric called on President Bola Tinubu to engage with protest organizers in a fatherly manner and address their concerns about the government’s plans to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians. He also urged lawmakers at both federal and state levels to share in the burden by reducing their salaries, cutting fuel prices, and implementing a new national minimum wage.

Alo concluded by calling for a collective, lawful approach to addressing the nation’s issues, stressing the need for peace and unity across all regions. He reassured that with empathy and proper action, Nigeria can overcome its current challenges and find relief.
