A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday morning at Ibafo bus-stop along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where a Lagos State BRT bus was involved in a collision with a truck. Journalists who arrived at the scene noted that the accident occurred a few minutes before 6 am on Saturday.
Upon reaching the location, reporters observed that officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps and Police (FRSC) declined to offer further details on the incident, indicating that only their Public Relations Officers were authorized to disclose information.
Though not officially confirmed, witnesses recounted that several passengers aboard the BRT bus sustained injuries.
Eyewitnesses recounted to The PUNCH that the BRT bus was stationary, in the process of loading passengers at the bus stop, when a truck transporting cows to Lagos collided with it.
The impact of the collision caused the bus to swerve off the road, leading to damage to nearby shops and kiosks.
Efforts were made to facilitate traffic movement by relocating the cow truck a short distance away from the accident scene.
