Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, made the announcement on Thursday during the 2024 annual corporate governance conference held in Lagos. He stated, “We have recently concluded the implementation of the federal government’s 2020 policy requiring that every phone number be linked to a NIN.”
Maida acknowledged that the process was challenging for many Nigerians but emphasized its importance. “Today, every phone number is now associated with a verified NIN. Not only is it linked, but it is also verified,” he added.
