An atmosphere of confusion emerged on Monday when officials from the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) arrived at a well-known market in Abuja, located in the Lugbe area of the city, with intentions to dismantle it.

The incident reportedly involved FCDA officials, along with security personnel, descending on the building material market with the aim of demolishing it.

According to reports from Daily Trust, journalists who visited the scene observed stall owners making frantic efforts to salvage their merchandise from the approaching bulldozers that were poised to dismantle the stalls.

It has been noted that the market vendors were previously informed about the impending demolition over a period of time but chose to disregard the notices.

In a separate incident, there are reports indicating that unidentified gunmen have abducted Jibrin Mohammed, the Emir of Gurku, a first-class traditional ruler in Nasarawa State.

This incident reportedly occurred on Sunday night at the Emir’s palace, which is situated a short distance from the Mararraba main town within the Karu Local Government Area.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that a joint effort involving the police and vigilante groups was launched to search the surrounding areas after receiving a distress call. However, as of the latest update, no trace of the abducted emir and his wife has been discovered.
