The tension began when Burna Boy shared a post targeting a figure he called “Owerri Rick Ross,” a name many speculated referred to Cubana Chiefpriest. In his post, Burna Boy wrote, “Don’t forget you’re Azaman o, and they’ve taken your plug named ‘Omo Igbo’ in ATL. You’re the next #OwerriRickyrozay.”
In retaliation, Cubana Chiefpriest hit back by referencing the rumored romantic link between Burna Boy and the troubled American rapper Diddy. He posted, “Diddy oil is the quickest route to PTSD. You haven’t seen anything yet, and you, with your ‘bend down collect’ Grammy…”
He continued, “The Ferraris, London jewelers’ debts. I’ve waited for this moment. Osubrileeee oooo. It’s so obvious. How can someone who claims to be so wealthy live in so much pain? What’s hurting you, aren’t you supposed to be an African princess? You rushed to ‘bend down collect’ your Grammy and are still crying. The oil in your Grammy tells the story. We know the pain you went through, that’s why you want everyone to feel it. I understand your struggle.”
Further, the celebrity barman revealed that he paid Burna Boy ₦1 million to perform as a backup artist during his 2018 birthday party, asserting that his own success predated the singer’s rise to fame among the wealthy elite.
He remarked, “Owerri Rick Ross, what a blessing! Look where they rate me now. Me & Rosay #CpNosmall. Back in 2018, I paid you ₦1 million to perform as a backup artist at my birthday. I have pictures and videos of you performing for me. I’m not lying. We’ve been making money before you even joined the circle. Be humble, little boy.”
