The aim of the training is to better equip the lawmakers for their roles upon returning to Rivers State, with a deeper understanding of legislative intricacies.
The suspension of the lawmakers, along with Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu, follows a declaration by President Bola Tinubu in a broadcast on March 18, 2025. Tinubu, invoking Section 305 of the Nigerian Constitution, declared a state of emergency in Rivers State due to political unrest, suspending the governor, deputy governor, and members of the House of Assembly for an initial six months.
