Corruption Outcry: Governor Yusuf Returns 76 Minors To Families Amid Bad Governance ProtestThe Kano State Government has officially handed over 76 minors, who were detained during the recent End Bad Governance protest, to their parents. Governor Abba Yusuf issued a stern warning, advising parents not to solicit donations or public support for their children.

Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Shehu Wada Sagagi, Governor Yusuf expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for approving the withdrawal of charges against the minors, acknowledging that their detention was an injustice. The Governor emphasized that the incident served as a vital lesson for all, underscoring that violence is never a solution and that participating in illegal activities is unacceptable.

“The government will not tolerate any attempts by parents or associations to collect donations or support for their children under this pretext,” Governor Yusuf warned. “Our administration recognizes that the End Bad Governance protest highlighted urgent issues like unemployment and the lack of education, which must be addressed at all levels of government.”

Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, the State Commissioner for Health, confirmed that all 76 minors received medical attention for various ailments while in detention. He assured the public that they have all recovered and are in good health.

Hamza Nuhu Dantani, the legal counsel representing the minors, clarified that while protesting is not a criminal act, it becomes unlawful when it involves violence, destruction, or harm to others. He urged the young individuals to channel their energy positively and strive to make their families proud.
