Corruption Thrived Under Buhari’s Nose – Bagos Reveals Dirty Secrets Of Ex-Appointees
Former House of Representatives member, Dachung Bagos, has claimed that several appointees of the late President Muhammadu Buhari betrayed the trust placed in them, further deepening the country’s corruption and transparency crisis.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Bagos made the statement on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, following Buhari’s burial in Daura, Katsina State.
He voiced concern over the fact that individuals appointed by Buhari to promote good governance and combat corruption are now themselves embroiled in corruption investigations.
According to Bagos, Buhari’s failure to adequately monitor and assess his appointees created a major weakness in his administration.
“In terms of the president as an individual, he selected people he believed would support him in running the government,” Bagos said. “However, as it turns out, some of those trusted figures are now linked to corruption-related cases.”
“This betrayal of trust not only damaged the president’s anti-corruption image but also worsened the situation in the country—even with mechanisms like the Treasury Single Account introduced to promote transparency,” he added.
Bagos concluded by stating that Buhari’s administration struggled with accountability due to a lack of proper oversight of those he empowered.
