Court Approves ₦500 Million Bail For Former Kogi Governor Yahaya BelloThe Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Friday granted former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, a ₦500 million bail. The ruling, delivered by Justice Emeka Nwite, also stipulated that Bello must provide two sureties, each with the same bail amount.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The sureties are required to swear an affidavit of means and must own property in Abuja. The title documents of these properties will be verified by the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court. Additionally, Bello is ordered to deposit his international passport with the court, while both he and his sureties must submit two recent passport-sized photographs.

Pending the fulfillment of these bail conditions, Justice Nwite directed that Bello be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja. The former governor has pleaded not guilty to charges of an alleged ₦80 billion fraud brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bello was arraigned on 19 counts related to money laundering.
