Both the Senate and the House of Representatives are experiencing an unprecedented wave of judicial decisions, resulting in the surprising removal of several members after five months.

In the Senate, the Court of Appeal has ousted five lawmakers. The APC lost seats but gained two, while the PDP gained three but lost two. Additionally, the Labour Party lost one seat.

In the House of Representatives, no fewer than 12 lawmakers have been unseated by the Court. Among these, eight belong to the PDP, three are affiliated with the LP, and one is from the APC.

On the gaining side, the APC acquired eight seats, the PDP secured two, NNPP claimed one, and APGA gained one.

The controversial legislator, Elisha Abbo, faced removal by the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which declared Amos Yohanna as the winner of Adamawa North Senatorial District.

Yohanna cited electoral irregularities and result manipulation, and the Court granted the request to unseat Abbo.

Notably, Abbo, initially elected in 2019 under the PDP, had been involved in various controversies, including an incident in which he assaulted a woman in a sex toy shop in Abuja.

Former minority whip of the Senate, Darlington Nwokocha, has also been dealt a significant blow by the Court of Appeal. The court in Lagos ousted Nwokocha and declared Augustine Akobundu of the PDP as the winner of Abia Central Senatorial District.
