Court Denies Abba Kyari’s Bail Request In Drug Trafficking Case

A Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected a new bail application from Abba Kyari, a detained Deputy Commissioner of Police facing drug trafficking charges.

Justice Emeka Nwite, in his ruling, stated that the application lacked merit and that Kyari did not provide any exceptional circumstances justifying bail. The court had previously dismissed a similar bail application and ordered an expedited trial.

Consequently, the court denied the application, allowing the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to proceed with prosecuting Kyari and his co-defendants.
