According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria, Mrs. O.O. Latunji, the Presiding Magistrate, ordered Bello’s remand at the Agodi correctional facility following his plea of not guilty to three charges: unlawful house break, theft, and malicious damage to property.

Despite Bello’s plea, Magistrate Latunji granted him a bail option of N250,000 alongside two sureties of equal sum. Regrettably, Bello couldn’t fulfill the bail requirements, leading to his remand.

The case is scheduled for trial on May 18, as adjourned by the magistrate.

During the court proceedings, Inspector Oluseye Akinola, the prosecutor, informed the court that the accused perpetrated the crime on May 13 within the Orita-Aperin Area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

Akinola detailed the accusations, stating that Bello unlawfully accessed Christ Church High School 1, Orita-Aperin, and pilfered 75 iron chairs and lockers valued at N500,000. Additionally, he allegedly made away with iron doors worth N80,000 and burglary windows valued at N300,000. Furthermore, damage to the school’s PVC roof was attributed to Bello.

The charges laid against him are in violation of sections 412, 390 (9), and 41 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 vol. iv Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
