The case was filed by Levi Ogbogiri, also known as Kraziecent, who appeared in court prepared to proceed as the sole witness. His lawyer informed the court that although the matter was scheduled for hearing, the defence had submitted a request for adjournment. According to the letter, the defence counsel is currently outside the court’s jurisdiction and is not expected back until the end of May, proposing a new hearing date in June.
While the claimant’s counsel did not oppose the request, he urged the court to impose conditions. He also highlighted that the application did not come from the lead defence counsel but from another lawyer within the same firm. Additionally, he reminded the court that the case has already faced multiple delays, some attributed to the defence, while others resulted from court renovations and a mourning period in late 2025.
In her ruling, the trial judge, Adeyemi Ajayi, acknowledged the arguments presented and warned that further absence by the defendant at the next hearing could prompt additional court action. She subsequently adjourned the case to June 23, 2026.
The lawsuit originates from an alleged incident in December 2024, when the claimant said he was assaulted while taking photos and videos at a public event. He claimed the encounter caused emotional distress and resulted in damage to his iPhone 15 Pro Max. As part of his demands, he is seeking compensation for medical expenses, a public apology across social media and national newspapers, and ₦2 billion in damages along with other reliefs.
