Court Issues Permanent Ban On Ado Bayero, Four Others From Claiming Emir Title

The Kano State High Court has issued a permanent injunction prohibiting Aminu Ado Bayero and the four deposed Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya, and Karaye from holding themselves out as Emirs. Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu delivered the ruling on Monday, also restraining the 15th Emir of Kano and the other Emirs, as well as their associates, agents, and any appointees, from assuming the titles of Emir of Kano, Bichi, Gaya, Rano, and Karaye.

Naija News reports that the Kano State government initiated legal action seeking to prevent Aminu Ado Bayero and the four Emirs from representing themselves as Emirs. Additionally, the government instructed the deposed Emirs to vacate their palaces within 48 hours of their dethronement.
