Court Orders Wike’s Son To Submit Passport Amid $2.1m Fraud Allegations

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), sitting in Maitama, Abuja, has ordered Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, to produce his American international passport as proceedings continued in a $2.1 million civil suit filed against him.

Justice Sylvanus Oriji issued the order on Tuesday following an application by counsel to the claimants, Hamza Dantani, during the cross-examination of Jordan in suit number CV/008/2026. The matter was filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the claimants allege that they first met Jordan in London before subsequently meeting him in Abuja. They said they approached him for assistance in facilitating the acquisition of 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.

The claimants alleged that Jordan quoted $2.1 million as a facilitation fee, which they said included $2 million allegedly intended for his father and $100,000 purportedly meant for Jordan. They further claimed that the money was delivered in cash on September 26, 2025, in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani, while Jordan was allegedly accompanied by Onor Sandy.

They alleged that after the payment, the proposed land acquisition was not completed and the money was not refunded, while Jordan allegedly became unreachable.

Jordan, who is represented by Senior Advocate of Nigeria Ogwu Onoja, has denied the allegations. During the resumed proceedings, he adopted his statement on oath and disputed the claims made against him.

During cross-examination, counsel to the claimants asked Jordan about his whereabouts on September 26, 2025. He told the court that he was outside Nigeria on that date and said he had travelled using his American international passport.

Following the response, Dantani applied for the passport to be produced in court. Justice Oriji granted the application and ordered Jordan to bring the document before the court. The judge also granted an unopposed request for Jordan to write his full name and signature five times each on a plain sheet of paper.

The claimants’ case also relates to an alleged joint venture agreement dated October 17, 2025 involving Jordan and two companies, Apostle Associate Limited and Creekstone General Contractor Ltd. They alleged that the proposed project involved the construction of 24 units of six-bedroom detached duplexes on land in Guzape New Extension and Katampe New Extension.

According to their filings, the claimants were expected to contribute $4.2 million, or its naira equivalent, while the defendant was allegedly responsible for providing the land. They further alleged that they paid $2.1 million in connection with the proposed transaction and later discovered problems concerning ownership of the plots.

Jordan has rejected the allegations and maintained that he does not know the claimants and did not receive the alleged $2.1 million. He also disputed the authenticity of an alleged acknowledgement of payment and said the passport number referenced by the claimants belonged to an expired passport.

The defendant further maintained that he was outside Nigeria on the date the claimants said the alleged payment was made. The competing accounts remain before the court and have not been finally determined.

The court adjourned the matter until Wednesday for continuation of proceedings.
