Court Remands Landlord For Defiling Tenant’s 6-Year-Old Daughter In Oyo

A family court session held at Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Tuesday, March 26, resulted in the remand of Musibau Lamidi, aged 50, due to accusations of defiling his tenant’s six-year-old daughter.

Presided over by Magistrate Mrs. S. A. Adesina, the court ordered the detention of the landlord at the Agodi custodial facility pending guidance from the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions. No plea was taken from the accused during the proceeding.

The case was adjourned until April 25 for further mention.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Musibau, residing in Olode, Ibadan, faced a single charge of defilement.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Gbemisola Adedeji, informed the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offense on March 13, between 8 am and 4 pm, by defiling his tenant’s daughter.

Adedeji revealed that a dispute had arisen between Musibau and the child’s mother, leading to her eviction. Subsequently, when the woman sought alternative accommodation, the defendant purportedly assaulted her daughter.
